9/24/2006 1:00 PM - 9/24/2006 3:00 PM
Parker Cemetery, located on Parker Road north of Mainstreet

The Parker Area Historical Society (PAHS) will present its fifth annual Cemetery Walk at the Parker Cemetery off Highway 83, on Sunday, Sept. 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. This event features members of the community adopting the persona of famous pioneers buried in the town cemetery. Each year different grave dwellers are portrayed so that the program remains unique. This project was originally conceived by Nancy Gripman, a member of PAHS. Mike Mulligan, PAHS vice-president, is spearheading the event this year. Refreshments will be provided, and local historian Ben Priest will serve at the entry station to provide background information; PAHS guides will then usher visitors to the various grave sites to hear the pioneers' stories of life in early Parker. This year's historical figures will be: George W. Parker, Elizabeth Tallman, David Shaughnessy, Carol and Rose Stroh, and Frank Kime. For more information call 303.663.9119.
