Chambers... will it ever open?

Project Delays Shift Opening of Chambers Road, Mainstreet and Meridian Village Boulevard to Fall 2007

7/19/2007
Douglas County has announced that utility relocations and problems with the road sub-surface in the project area are causing delays in the opening of Meridian Village Boulevard from Lincoln to Mainstreet, Chambers Road from Lincoln to Mainstreet and Mainstreet from Newlin Gulch Boulevard to Meridian Village Boulevard to mid-September 2007.

Drivers previously used West Parker Road to get to Lincoln from Mainstreet, which has been open only to local traffic since Fall 2006, when the County began construction of Chambers Road and Mainstreet and the developers of Meridian Village, Shea Properties, began construction of a planned development for housing in that area. Shea Properties is paying for the construction of Meridian Village Boulevard from Lincoln to Mainstreet and Mainstreet from Meridian Village Boulevard to Chambers Road.

Drivers are encouraged to continue using Jordan Road to get from Mainstreet to Lincoln and vice versa until the Fall 2007 opening.

Upon completion this fall, drivers will have the option of two new north – south routes in that area – Meridian Village Boulevard and Chambers Road. West Parker Road will not reopen and will become a dead-end road in Lone Tree as a result of the two replacement roads.

“We apologize for the inconvenience that this delay will cause the traveling public,” said Douglas County Project Manager Sean P. Owens. “It’s always hard to determine what conflicts might arise in a construction project. We really appreciate the publics continued patience while we complete these projects.”
