Jock and Jills Closing this Week!!!
Is this space cursed? Isn't this the 3rd or 4th Restaurant to fail in this spot? We heard this was closing this week and I'm really disappointed. I thought this was a great sports bar, and I really enjoyed the back patio all Spring, Summer and Fall. What do you think is the problem? Are we are Parkerites supporting our local businesses by eating and shopping in Parker? Share what you think with everyone.

Best restaurant in Parker. What a shame...you'll be missed!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that one month rent for that space is $35,000 a month and will go up to 2008. Jocks and Jills did good business. But how is anyone supposed to afford that?
ReplyDeleteHOLY COW!! Are you serious? No Wonder... I can't imagine anyplace other than a 5 STAR place being able to afford that kind of rent.. They need to rethink how that space is made up!

Jocks & Jills Restaurants To Be Sold In December
Jocks & Jills Restaurants, including Frankie's at the Prado, which filed Chapter 11 petitions in March of this year, appears to be on the block, and almost sold. They have filed a Motion to Approve the Sale of the assets of the related debtors to Hyena Investment Company, LLC, or its designee for $3.2 million. The sale hearing is on December 10, 2007, should bigger and better offers be put on the table.
This is awful!! We love Jock and Jill's and will miss it terribly! Great atmosphere and great food what more can you ask for?

My wife and I went to J&J's a few times but ended up going to Vines down the street. It seemed very boring, lack of entertainment and a very much older crowd (40+).
ReplyDeleteThis space would be good for an upscale night club/restaurant since the only options in parker are tailgate and funugys. These two other joints make it successfully but also cater to a different crowd.
We had a very bad experience there. The bathroom were filthy, there was old food from someone else on the seat where we were sitting, and we had really slow service. So poor that my husband emailed to complain and we did not get any response. If they treated many this way and kept their place like this a majority of the time, I am not surprise they closed.
ReplyDeleteDoesnt surprise me.. i worked there for 16 months and i let the owners know that service was going downhill and servers needed to be let go. they didnt care. just wanted bodies. they went through over 14 floor managers and three general managers. nuff said.
ReplyDeleteThose last two comments are completely consistent with everything I have ever heard about that guy who owned the place. I'm guessing it wasn't a very fun place to work and that usually translates to what the customers see.
ReplyDeleteI always like to give a place a chance or two to make things right, but J&J has always given us poor or slow service, lackluster food, even the bartenders failed to acknowledge customers sitting at the bar. J&J lacked personality, there was no culture...this usually starts 'at the top' of the food chain and trickles down to the workers, IMO.
ReplyDeleteThey use to have a great Dj, Magic Mike and DJ Tony. We would visit every week for kids night which was the best ever and they were DJ's there on a regular basis. Don't know what you got till it's gone! There food was good but service and management were NEVER consistant! Plus I heard the owners had no hospitalty experiance!look at Tailgate and Funugyz, one word about them regardless of there hillbilly clients and that is Consistancy!
