Father's Day??? Exactly what is it? I looked in Wikipedia and here is their definition:
Father's Day is a celebration inaugurated in the early twentieth century to complement Mother's Day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting, and to honor and commemorate fathers and forefathers. Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide and typically involves gift-giving to fathers and family-oriented activities.

However, it seems to me that in this day and age of overindulging our kids... it's turned into Dad has to entertain and take the kids out to eat and spend a bunch of money on them instead of it being a day to honor dear old Dad!
If my husband got to pick how to spend the day it would be sitting in a lawn chair, drinking a cold one and getting served a big fat steak and doing absolutely nothing!
So what are your thoughts? Have your past Father's Days been similar to the one's I described? What would you really like to get on Father's Day or spend the day doing? What's a good gift to get from your wives?
I always shopped at American Greetings for all occasional greeting cards.
ReplyDeleteon that day usually spending with childrens and family. This beautiful start of the day, children usually spend the day with dad by going out for picnic or for a treat in a restaurant. Many families also throw Father's Day get together by inviting friends and relatives.
